Bennett to eschew Netanyahu-style props at UN

"The speech will be different from the style of [former prime minister Benjamin] Netanyahu's speeches," Bennett's spokesman Matan Sidi said. "There will not be visual aids, posters, drawings, etc."

The core message of the speech will be to defend Israel against the double standards it faces.

In addition, Bennett will speak about the Iranian nuclear threat, saying, "We will do what is necessary."

The speech is scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. in New York and 4 p.m. in Israel, before the holiday of Simhat Torah begins on Monday evening. Bennett will stay in the US for only one day of the holiday because he is Israeli; Diaspora Jews observe two days.

The prime minister is expected to hold sideline meetings with other leaders at the UN.

Bennett also plans to meet with leaders of Jewish organizations in New York after he was unable to do so in Washington last month due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The prime minister plans to give an address about the connection between Israel and the Jewish Diaspora.

"He plans to tell the story of the new government to those who distanced themselves from Israel in recent years, in order to bring them back to support," Sidi said.
